Through the Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Monmouth County, the Junior Master Gardener Committee will host the annual Grow Team Program, an eight-week gardening program that includes hands-on experiences in both the classroom and garden under the supervision of certified Rutgers Master Gardeners. This eight-week class session is offered to local kids ages and classes are held at the Monmouth County Agriculture Building, Kozloski Road in Freehold. The program will be held on Saturday mornings with classroom drop-off at a. Pick-up time at the garden is p. Burry, liaison to Rutgers Cooperative Extension.

Projects include seasonal horticulture, preparation, maintenance and design. This group meets every fourth Tuesday. This activity integrates horticulture and environmental science within the individual grade level core curriculum, including health, math, and science. The garden is utilized and maintained by the students, teachers, family members, community members and club members.
Students eat what they grow and the excess is donated to a local food pantry. Epiphany House — Members provide floral material and supplies and assist in the creation of a horticultural gift in this hands-on workshop for women in a life skills program.
Many of the plants are from our own gardens, making this event special. Members can choose a new plant to learn about and grow on their own. Please check the Calendar for dates.
