Edible rose. Cooking rose petal jam!

Rose is a fragrant flower and a storehouse of nutrients. It is known to relieve tension in the body, pain in muscles and joints, and improve the condition and color of the skin. It is very useful for women, as it normalizes the menstrual cycle, reduces pain and helps in the fight against a depressive emotional state. To preserve its properties, it is necessary to carry out the correct preparation of petals.

Proper storage

After drying, proper storage of the rhizomes is simply necessary. At home, it is better to select a fabric bag for this with any clean cotton, linen or jute fabric. Sewing such is not difficult. Each pouch should have ties on top. If you store different herbs or roots in the same room, it is convenient to sew bags of different colors. Or make notes, inscriptions or patches on them with the names of the product.

But in no case should you use hermetically sealed containers for storage - plastic, polyethylene or glass. The fact is that even in a properly dried root, a certain percentage of moisture remains. And in a sealed package, the product can simply rot. The main thing during storage is not to allow humid air, pests and insects to penetrate the product.

At the same time, the bags are suspended at the height of a person's growth or under the ceiling. Or kept closed in any convenient place - in the kitchen, in the closet or in the attic. You can also use wire mesh shelves for storing bags.

Best storage conditions for a dried plant:

  • air temperature + 20˚С
  • ventilated room
  • time - up to 3 years.

The storage time is not indicated by chance. It is during the first three years after the drying of the plant that it retains all the useful and medicinal properties. Then they gradually disappear and the plant is depleted.

Banana tops processing methods

If it is necessary to feed the seedlings between transplants, when the use of fresh peel is not possible, an infusion or banana peel processed in other ways is usually used. Processing is needed to reduce the biological activity of raw materials, that is, to make the fertilizer from banana skins safe for plant roots.

Drying

Dry feeding is convenient because it allows you to control portions. Some of the nutrients are lost during drying as a result of oxidation, but potassium is well preserved in a dry mixture.

  • Drying in the oven. Line a baking sheet with foil and arrange the skins so that the hard part of the skin is underneath. Dry at the lowest temperature. In addition to energy costs, the disadvantage of this method is that when organic substances are destroyed, the products of their decomposition remain in the fertilizer.
  • Dry naturally. This method is safer than drying in the oven, as the decomposition products of organic matter will volatilize. But there is a great risk of raw material decay or mold.

Dried skins must be ground in a coffee grinder or in a mortar. It is better to store dry dressing in a paper bag.

There are three ways to apply dry mix.

  • The powder is poured into 1 teaspoon under the root, after which the plant is watered.
  • The mixture can be brewed like tea and cooled. Used for watering.
  • Make a foliar dressing, which will also protect the plant from aphids. For this, a powder of 4 banana peels is mixed with 2 teaspoons of eggshell and 20 grams of magnesium sulfate. The mixture is poured with water and shaken. Spraying can be done once a week. Store the product in the refrigerator. But you cannot use it chilled - when spraying, the liquid should have a temperature of 20 ° C.

Freezing

Fresh skins are placed in a tightly closed container and placed in the freezer. This method is safer for plants than drying. Hazardous organic substances, as well as their decomposition products, will go away during freezing, while valuable elements will not be lost.

Scalding

The crushed skins are poured over with boiling water and, having allowed to cool, use the mass as fertilizer. Such dressing can be applied, observing the same rules as for fresh skins, since substances dangerous to the root system remain in it. As a result of heat treatment, some of the minerals are lost, but all growth stimulants are retained, so the raw materials processed in this way will remain useful for seedlings.

Wilting

You can use this method in spring, when the air temperature is not lower than 15 ° C, and only in dry, preferably windy weather. Strips of peel are strung on a string and hung in the fresh air under the sun's rays.

The method is good in that it allows you to preserve all minerals and growth hormones in the peel, while it becomes safe for the roots.

7. Houses for insects

Old wooden pallets - ready-made and quite aesthetic building material for houses for beneficial insects. You just need to put the pallets one on top of the other and fill all the niches with materials where beneficial insects can winter: clay pots, straw, branches, hollow stems of perennials and bricks, cones.

Advice: for small gardens from the same "fillers" can be built and more miniature houses.

Effective chemicals

Spring pest control of the garden includes the use of effective chemicals.

Table "Chemical preparations for processing plants in the garden and in the garden in early spring":

It was created in America more than 70 years ago and has been used in our country for over 60 years, so that almost all pests have long been adapted to it, and therefore treatments with this drug are practically harmless for them.

Inta-vir, Decis, Karate, Fury

They belong to the same group. They are highly toxic, therefore very effective, but at the same time they kill beneficial insects, bees and earthworms, since they take about three weeks to decompose, and during this time beneficial insects will come out of their shelters and die from the effects of pesticide residues. And they absolutely cannot be used from the moment of flowering, not only of the garden, but also of the mother-and-stepmother, since at this time bumblebees appear and worms crawl out

They decompose quickly, within 5-7 days, even before the appearance of beneficial insects, but they are less effective, therefore, with a large number of pests, it is pointless to use them, and with a small number of pests, chemical treatment can be completely dispensed with. In addition, they pollute the environment ten times more.

All of these drugs kill pests, getting into their intestines along with food and causing poisoning. Therefore, there is no point in using them to spray egg-laying or pest pupae.

The chemical poisons listed above can only be applied in the garden before flowering! But at the same time you destroy not only pests, but also your own liver.

Use biological products Iskra-bio (formerly called Agrovertin) or Fitoverm, they are obtained from soil bacteria and micro-fungi, and therefore are not pesticides.

Never spray in windy conditions as there are early green crops already at this time. When treating the garden with non-biological preparations, they must be covered with a film, otherwise you can poison yourself.

Instead of these chemicals, you can use the same mineral fertilizers that are listed above, but only their concentration should be 7-10 times lower, otherwise you can cause a severe burn of the opening buds and buds. It is possible to recommend spraying on a green cone with a 0.7% urea solution - dissolve 70 g (3 tablespoons) of urea in 10 liters of water. But this is in case you do not have Fitoverm or Spark-bio at hand.
